Overview
This article provides information related to the type of encryption that is used in the GFI EventsManager exporting tool.
Environment
- GFI EventsManager 2013
- GFI EventsManager 2012
Information
EventsManager uses the TripleDES (Triple Data Encryption Standard) algorithm for encryption. After the export is successful, it will create a file (filename.dat.hash) that contains the hash of the file using three different algorithms:
- MD5
- SHA1
- SHA256
NOTE: MD stands for Message Digest and SHA stands for Secure Hash Algorithm.
